AMARILLO, Texas - The weather was less than ideal as the Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship teed off on Monday morning at La Paloma Golf Club. Temperatures were in the 50s with gusty winds and overcast skies, but despite the conditions, Mid-America Christian University's team competed hard and they are in the top five after 36 holes.
MACU fired an opening round 304, and while they dropped back slightly in the second round, they still sit at 612 with two of the three rounds in the books. MACU is only four strokes behind Southwestern Christian University, and they are tied with Central Christian College.
