OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mid-America Christian University women's basketball head coach Hannah Moeller has announced the addition of Kelsie Dutton to her coaching staff.  Dutton comes to MACU after serving the last two years as a graduate assistant in the women's basketball program at Southern Nazarene University.

While at SNU, Dutton was heavily involved in the development of their student athletes. She also helped schedule, plan and run all team practices, aided in the individual workouts of all team members and prepared scouting reports and implemented game plans for upcoming opponents.  Dutton's work also included monitoring academic progress, planning community outreach projects and assisting the weight training staff with all strength and conditioning workouts.

"I am extremely excited to welcome Kelsie back to MACU!" Moeller said.  "I have known Kelsie since her playing days and have had the privilege of watching her flourish as a coach over the last two years at SNU."

"Kelsie grew up surrounded by great coaches," Moeller continued.  "Couple that upbringing with her NCAA Division II coaching experience and her Sooner Athletic Conference playing experience and it's not hard to see that Kelsie will bring a tremendous amount of knowledge to our staff.  Furthermore, I'm confident Kelsie will be a tremendous young woman for the players in our program to look to as a Godly example."

Dutton is no stranger to MACU, as she spent the last two season of her playing days in an Evangels uniform.  As a senior at MACU she played in 32 games, averaging 3.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and shot 82.9 percent from the free-throw line. Her efforts helped the Lady Evangels win its most games (18) and conference games (11) since joining the NAIA.

A solid student-athlete, Dutton was named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete and an NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.

Prior to MACU, Dutton played at Hill College in Hillsboro, TX, where she was a two-time All-North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference honorable mention selection while helping the Rebels to a NTJCAC championship and a regional semifinal appearance. She also received the NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American Award.

"I am extremely blessed and thrilled to continue my coaching career at MACU, the same place I finished my basketball playing career" said Dutton.

"I was part of the foundation being built within the women's basketball program and am eager to continue contributing as a coach.  MACU has a special place in my heart and I am excited for the future of the program and the University."

Dutton holds a Master of Arts degree in Sports Management and Administration from SNU, a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Business and English and an Associates of Arts from Hill College.
