OKLAHOMA CITY – The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels picked up their first win of the season in emphatic fashion with a convincing 5-0 victory over the Southwestern College Lady Builders today (Sept. 10) at Evangel Field.
Taylor Moseley and Angelica Ceballos teamed up a couple times for scores, with the first coming when Ceballos scored her first career goal by heading in a cross from Moseley at the 24:34 mark.
After Brittney Stephens scored to make it 2-0 in the 32nd minute, Moseley and Ceballos hooked up again in the 62nd minute as Moseley headed in a corner kick from Ceballos for a three-goal lead.
Ceballos then assisted on Jasmine Chacon-Diaz's first career score at the 62:46 mark.
Chacon-Diaz then finished off the scoring by assisting on Pyper Steinweiss' first career goal to finish off the scoring in the 78th minute.
The Lady Evangels (1-2) out-shot the Lady Builders 18-6 overall and 10-4 on-goal.
Madison Donihoo recorded four saves in goal for the Lady Evangels, while Olyvia Bish stopped five shots for Southwestern (2-2).
The Lady Evangels will next host No. 13-ranked Baker University Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 13) at 2 p.m.
