Chickasha, Okla. -- With the match still scoreless deep into the second half, Tara Arnold finally broke through for the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Drovers that resulted in a 1-0 win over the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels in a Sooner Athletic Conference matchup tonight (Oct. 21) in Chickasha, Okla.
Arnold's game-winning score came with exactly two minutes remaining in regulation.
The Lady Evangels managed to keep the Drovers off the board for majority of the contest despite being out-shot 18-2 overall and 7-2 on-goal.
Madison Donihoo made six saves in the net to help keep the Lady Evangels (6-7-1, 3-4 SAC) in the match. Brandi Hutchison stopped the only two shots-on-goal she faced for USAO (9-6-1, 4-2-1).
Angelica Ceballos had both of the Lady Evangels' shots, with Heidi Vargas recording a match-high five shots to pace the Drovers.
Next up for the Lady Evangels will be a matchup at St. Gregory's University on Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 25) at 1 p.m. in Shawnee, Okla.
