Shawnee, Okla. -- The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels fell 1-0 today (Oct. 25) at the St. Gregory's University Cavaliers in Sooner Athletic Conference action in Shawnee, Okla.
It represents the third straight 1-0 setback for the Lady Evangels, who earlier this season held opponents scoreless for 329 and 193 minute stretches.
The only goal of the match came when Abi Housecroft scored off an assist from Araceli Flores at the 65:23 mark in the second half.
The Lady Evangels (6-8-1, 3-5 SAC) held an 11-7 advantage in shots overall, but were outshot 4-3 on-goal.
Brittney Stephens led MACU with four shots, while Kelsey Janko and Cindy Ramos each had two shots.
MACU's Madison Donihoo and SGU's Jena Flewelling each stopped three shots in the net.
The Lady Evangels will now wrap up the regular season at home for "Senior Day" Saturday afternoon (Oct. 29) at home vs. Southwestern Christian University. The match is set for 1 p.m. at Evangel Field.
