OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City University Stars bookended goals 76 minutes apart to defeat the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels 2-0 tonight (Oct. 13) in Sooner Athletic Conference action.
The Stars got on the board just five minutes into the match on a score from Allison Worsham.
OCU's next goal didn't come until the 81st minute when Kayla McKenna assisted on a score from Vanessa Mendoza to put it away.
The Stars (7-3-1, 3-0-1 SAC) out-shot the Lady Evangels 16-8 overall and 9-5 on-goal.
Cindy Ramos and Cici Mitchell led MACU (5-5-1, 2-1-1 SAC) with three shots each.
Kaitlyn Whitten stopped seven shots for the Lady Evangels, while Kirsten Thomas made five saves for OCU.
The Lady Evangels will next play Saturday evening (Oct. 17) at John Brown University. The match is set for 5:30 p.m. in Siloam Springs, Ark.
