Siloam Springs, Ark. -- The John Brown University Golden Eagles broke through in the second half and squeaked out a 1-0 win over the Mid-America Christian University Evangels in a Sooner Athletic Conference matchup tonight (Oct. 17) in Siloam Springs, Ark.
It was Zeke Zumbro that netted the game-winner for the Golden Eagles at the 67:28 mark.
The Golden Eagles held off the Evangels, holding edges in shots (27-13) and shots-on-goal (12-3).
Gleydson Neri and Darko Nikolic each had a team-high three shots for the Evangels.
Tyler McIntosh made 11 saves in the match to keep MACU (5-6-1, 1-3-1 SAC) close throughout. Adam Holt made three saves in the net for the Golden Eagles (8-5-1, 4-1 SAC).
The Evangels will next be in action Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 20) when they host Southwestern Assemblies of God University at 4 p.m. at MACU Soccer Field.
