OKLAHOMA CITY – Mid-America Christian University Men's Basketball seniors Trey Slate and Dustin Welch have been selected to the 2016-17 Daktronics-NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete squads, the organizations each released today (Mar. 20).
To qualify for the NAIA honor, the student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.5 grade-point average and be at least a junior in academic standing.
For the NCCAA award, the criteria is a minimum 3.4 grade-point average and be at least a junior in academic standing.
Slate has a 3.63 GPA in Psychology, while Welch has maintained a 4.0 GPA with a major in Secondary Social Studies.
