Chickasha, Okla. -- The No. 25-ranked University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Drovers won both games over the Mid-America Christian University Evangels today (Mar. 21) by scores of 8-0 and 3-0 at Bill Smith Ballpark in Chickasha, Okla.
The Evangels encountered solid pitching in both games by the combination of Tate Landmark and Jordan Detherage.
Landmark pitched a one-hitter in the first game for USAO, with two strikeouts and no walks.
She received plenty of offensive support, including three RBIs from Caitlin Hall.
USAO scored four in the first and then ended things with four more in the fifth inning.
In the nightcap, Detherage blanked the Evangels on four hits and struck out two while also walking none.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning, when Hall doubled home the first run and Dagan Lampkin hit a two-run double that provided the only runs of the contest.
Morgan Wardlow started the second game for MACU and went six innings, giving up three runs and striking out three.
Taylor Fowble went 2-of-3 at the plate for the Evangels (7-19, 2-4 SAC). Tiphani Napier and Hanna Harris each had a hit for the Evangels, with Napier also recording the Evangels' only hit in the first game.
Kaylin Taylor and Shannon Boe each went 2-of-3 for the Drovers (24-11, 9-3 SAC) in the second game.
The Evangels will now return home to host St. Gregory's University Thursday afternoon (Mar. 23), starting at 2 pm at Jack Allen Field. It'll be the Evangels' first home Sooner Athletic Conference matchup of the season.
