OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mid-America Christian University softball head coach Robert Wakefield has announced the addition of Madison Monson to the program as an early signing for the 2017 season.

Monson, a Bethany, Okla. native, lettered four seasons for the Bethany High School Bronchos.

She was an all-Sooner Conference selection and team MVP for the 2015 season and was named the team's Offensive Player of the Year in 2014.

A solid student-athlete, Monson is a member of the National Honor Society and received the Outstanding Science award.

"Madison is a young lady that is going to provide an impact on our softball program immediately," Wakefield said.

"She has the work ethic and great personality that excites you as a coach.  Madison is just going to get better in time with her pitching and hitting.  We are so excited to have her for the next four years and be a part of our softball family."

Monson is joining a program that is coming off consecutive winning seasons for the first time since joining the NAIA in 2008.

She is the daughter of Jennifer Milam and Chris Monson and plans to major in Criminal Justice at MACU.
